From the East July 2026

Greetings , My Brethren ,

First , Thank you for bestowing the honor of being designated the Master of Smithtown Lodge for the ensuing year. My father,  his friends, from both Alcyone and Smithtown   would be very happy to see his son I sitting in the East of Smithtown .I will do my best to guide us to a harmonious future . I want to direct the Lodge to focus our resources towards Charity and Community . We have been stagnating , maybe sleeping is a better description . It is time to wake up this Lodge to be more proactive in the community . I firmly believe that by increasing our visibility and integrate ourselves back into the community that it will turn around our declining membership as well as improve our Masonic Retention .

In the current “  Empire State Mason “ the Grand Secretary clearly states that many Brothers are of an age that are not Digitally Proficient. He continues with the view that a hard copy of meeting notices and phone calls is our most direct means of communicating news and announcements to this segment of our membership . Always remember , they pay dues which entitles them to equal access to the Lodge Communication. Therefore, our obligation to them is to “ navigate a balance between the old , tangible , way and the new digital way of communication .

Although we are not having any regularly scheduled meetings during the months of July and August there may be Social Gatherings that may be posted on Smithtown Band . These dates have not as of yet been determined   .
I do encourage attendance ( tickets available from Secretary) at the Monday , July 13, 2026 , Summer Soiree to be held at Land’s End in Sayville .
Other important dates :

1. September 9th – start of new year
2. September 23rd – Rehearsal for DDGM Official Visit
3. October 14th – DDGM Official Visit

The Smithtown Band is an excellent resource to maintain contact with the most current events occurring within the Lodge and the Suffolk County Masonic District . If you not already a member of Band , I encourage you to join .
